This is the first drawing I've ever done in this kind of hyper detailed twisted labyrinthine style. I later learned it's perhaps what's known as a "Wimble-bilder" inspired piece, full of all kinds of crazy little details to hunt through and find, all of course relevant to the Pathfinder game which was being played/run by the commissioner. So yes, this is for a game someone ran privately with their friends, lucky people had the opportunity to complete the first quest and unlock this treasure to determine how to navigate the rest of this wild world. There's a bit of a trick to it and it's all hidden in the artwork.
This awesome piece opened a whole new set of doors for me and many people reference it when they come to hire me now. I loved doing it and so that's not a problem for me! :D My full portfolio can be found at www.feedthemultiverse.com for fantasy maps and custom cartography for roleplaying games and dungeon masters and many more.
