Old Damaged Parchment Map of a Broken World

An unusual compass points out a clue about this world. Some of you may immediately know what's up and others may take a while or even never notice it. For someone's fantasy game. This map challenged me in unique ways due to the projection of this world and the creation of the damaged mask to make the projection even less obvious. Suffice to say some bad things have happened here, and now the world is controlled by several demigods whose territories roughly map out to that of the people who've survived and continue to fight on in this terribly damaged place.
