Arctic Centric North Pole Future Apocalypse Map for Writer

I made a novel to contribute to my client's lore. The map is based on an Arctic view of an alternative Earth apocalyptic timeline in the distant future. You can find out way more about it at her website. https://remnantsofheaven.net/

I'm quite proud of this because it is based on a non-standard projection of the Earth. I do these every now and again; not every fantasy cartographer can also pull off some real world cartography in the process. It took learning a whole new suite of programs, which I use with the skill level of a baby and can't even come close to using like a professional, to be able to pull accurate reference data for this projection. I'll be honest. I do not know what's going into the math. I DRAW maps. I would technically consider myself an illustrator or graphic designer here, not a "cartographer" but when I do maps like these, even though the dominant process that goes into it is illustrative in nature, I feel a bit closer to the real authentic thing.

Is this imposter syndrome? I mean, I feel like a legitimate artist. But when I think about the full field of cartography, I know that all I am is some hack who draws maps. But then, does anyone really do cartography these days? I mean, getting out there and triangulating and drawing and walking and dangerously moving through uncharted territory? Now THAT'S cartography! Woohoo!

Anyway, I think this one's pretty neat, an unusual view. Not just another Europe. Thanks for reading. I could make a map for you too, yes. https://www.feedthemultiverse.com is my full portfolio with contact information.
